Tagging

Hangers:
Clothing must be clean and hung on childrens' hangers only!  The hanger hood should face the left (like a question mark) with the tag pinned to the right side of the garment as you face it.  See illustration below.

Tags:
Complete tags according to illustration. Use 3x5 index cards horizontally. Complete tags with size, price, and consignor number in BLUE or BLACK ink.  See illustration below.

Safety Pins:
Attach tag to clothing with a safety pin. Do not use straight pins!

Consignor Number:
Make sure you have your correct number on each card. Please note that you do not have to write "Consignor #." You may shorten to Consig #, or just write the number.  For example, if you are Consignor No. 123, for the first item, you would label the card Consig #123-01.  The second would be Consig #123-02, etc. If you consigned with us in the last sale, we can reissue you the same number.  Just contact us prior to tagging so we can tell you what number to resume tagging.

Size:
Note the size in terms such as “newborn,” “6-9months,” or “2T,” “3T,” “4T,” etc.  Do not indicate size with S, M, L.

Price:
You set the price on all items, so price to sell. Use $1.00 increments (not .50 or .99).

Sets:
Place the waist of the pants, shorts, or skirt to the back of the shirt at the top of the shirt. Fasten the pant, shorts or shirt to the shirt by using a safety pin to the hanger, or clothes pin to the back of the shirt.  Do not safety pin the back of the shirt, as it makes for too many unwanted holes.

Shoes:
Must be in excellent used condition and have shoelaces. We offer two options for tagging shoes.  One option is to keep the shoes in the box if you still have it. Tap the index card to the side of the box. If not, place the shoes in a ziplock bag with the index card stapled to the bag. The other option is to tie the shoes together with ribbon and fasten the tag with a safety pin through the eyelet of shoe.  For shoes without eyelets, you can safety pin around ribbon that secures shoes together.

Socks:

We do not accept socks, unless they were made to match the outfit and they are in excellent condition.

Reserve Clothing Instruction:
Mark an "R" with a circle around it on the lower right corner of the tag for all items you want reserved for you in the event they do not sell. All unsold items must be picked up between 4:30-6:00 p.m. on the last day of the sale.  If you are unable to pick them up, you may arrange for someone else to pick them up for you as long as you email Busy Bird in advance of the sale with the pick up person's information. If you do not do pick up the unsold items by 6:00 on Saturday, they will become property of Busy Bird.  All items not marked with an "R" will become property of Busy Bird at the end of the sale.
